Hold that space in your awareness and begin to enliven it with your imagination.
What do you see?
What are the colors, the textures of the space?
Continue to enrich your experience of the space.
What is the temperature?
What is the light like?
Are there any smells that begin to arise?
How do you feel when you’re in this space?
What is your breathing like?
How does your heart feel?
Begin to feel the ease, the calm, the peace that you feel when you are in this space bubble up. Maybe you notice it in your belly or your toes or your heart. Sense this feeling begin to expand. Feel this feeling fill you up, like a healing balm. It fills the dry, brittle places. It soothes the hurts and the aches. It provides comfort and ease.
Know that you can bring this place to your awareness whenever you need a little extra care. You can enliven it in your awareness. You can enrich it through your curiosity. And by simply thinking of this space for a few moments, you are beginning to change your brain. You’re able to build up that reservoir of calm that you can dip into whenever you need a little ease.
